Hello Everyone,
We are very busy on the farm planting away and preparing for the coming summer season. We are getting all of our summer plants in the ground such as tomatoes, squash, cucumber, eggplant, potato, peppers, tomatillo, basil and much more.
I am excited to announce the new web software, Farmigo, that I will be utilizing to organize my CSA member subscriptions, bookkeeping, and web store abilities. I will soon have a simple and easy sign-up process through Farmigo where you can make a login and password for the farm through their web software. Farmigo will allow you to pay online for the CSA subscriptions, put boxes on vacation hold, and buy extras through the web-store all within a few clicks of the mouse. Farmigo takes care of almost all of the bookkeeping and organization on my end and will allow me to spend more time in the fields. More time in the field means a better quality product, more food for more people, and less stress for me in front of the computer.
This year I will also be cutting back on my delivery costs by using centralized "drop points" where I will drop off CSA boxes on particular days of the week during a given time-frame for CSA subscribers to come pick up their box. I am currently looking for local "drop points" to work with for the distribution of the CSA boxes. I am looking to find local businesses, individuals, churches, and other institutions who want to work with me and act as a "drop point" for these CSA boxes. I would preferably like to establish 1 or two drops points per week in each of the following areas: Shingle Springs, Cameron Park, El Dorado Hills, and Folsom. If you are interested or know someone who might be interested, please contact me for more information.
Best of Wishes,
-Kevin Nowell
