About Us

Humble Bee Hill Farms is nestled on five acres in the rustic town of Shingle Springs, west of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the foothills of El Dorado County.
Humble Bee Hill Farms provides vegetables, herbs, and fruit to local families and individuals primarily through our CSA program. Everything grown will receive my personal attention and care throughout the season to ensure a high quality product when I hand it off to you.

We have devoted a couple acres of land to growing a huge variety of vegetables, fruits, berries, and herbs.  Our aim is to provide the highest quality, fresh produce to local families and individuals at a reasonable price while trying to improve the quality of the land.  When possible we buy all our farm inputs as locally as possible and we will also try and sell our crops as locally as possible for the sake of sustainability and keeping more money within our local economy.  Many of the chemicals, pesticides, fungicides, herbicides that are used by the majority of farm industry in America, are toxic to humans and our environment.  These man made inputs are not at all sustainable and they cause environmental destruction all over the world.  For those reasons we strive to keep our crops free of all known pesticides, chemicals, and toxins.  We are not currently certified organic but that doesn't stop us from using those methods on our farm.

Food is such an amazing part of life, because every person on the planet shares a common interest in it. Whether you speak English, Russian, Spanish, or Klingon... whether you are white, brown, yellow, red, or purple...whether your are short, tall, fat, or skinny we all can come together to relate and communicate with one another over a plate of food.  Better yet...when food is prepared with love, joy, and our Earth Mother in mind, it creates a sense of community and self reward that is hard to find elsewhere. It is nice to know how and where the food was grown and if it was prepared in a way that is healthy for your body, the environment we live in, as well as our local community and economy.  With that I propose to you, your friends, and your families to try and eat food that is produced locally and with Earth Mother in mind, so then we can all benefit by living happier and healthier lives.
